It’s been a long road here at Beausic so far but I couldn’t possibly be more excited to inform you all that this is the 100th post I am making here on the blog! I am really excited to be making this post, as I have absolutely loved creating this blog and all of the looks featured on here, sharing all of the music that has meant so much to me, etc. What has meant every bit as much to me is the fact that there are actually people following the blog, subscribing to my YouTube Channel, liking the Beausic Facebook Page, etc. While the amount of followers I have on the blog, YouTube and Facebook pages is still modest, (around 30 each,) I definitely feel like things are progressing at a natural pace and I am very happy with it all. I am also really confident that things will continue to progress as beautifully as they have so far! I really don’t know how I could possibly say enough to express my massive feeling of gratitude to each and every one of you who have been reading the blog, watching the YouTube videos, whether you like the posts or comment or anything – I just really really appreciate your even taking the time to read and acknowledge this blog, which I dedicate so much of my time and energy to. It means the world to me that anybody actually cares or even notices all that I do here on the blog because it really serves as an amazing outlet for me to express the things that I am truly passionate about in life. So, I guess all I can really say is: THANK YOU ALL!
In celebration of this 100th post here on Beausic, I decided to compile a little “Best Of Beausic.” In going through past posts, I came up with the idea of doing a list of my Top 10 favorite posts that I have done here on the blog. I know that it’s a little weird that I’m making a post selecting my favorite of things that I have done and created myself. It may come across as a little bit of a weird, conceited thing to do and maybe it is, but I prefer to think of it as selecting from works I have done. We have all had the experience of working on things and realizing that they are not our best work… so, what’s wrong with acknowledging times when I have felt the opposite? There have definitely been times that I have felt that work I have done has been some of the best, so why not share some of that here? I don’t see a thing wrong with it, so I am going to do it! It’s kind of my own way of celebrating the accomplishment of 100 posts for myself. All that having been said, let’s get on with the list!

As I mentioned above, one of my favorite things to do and biggest passions in life is sharing music that I love and I especially love sharing music that people are not so familiar with. This was the inspiration behind the Buzz Artist posts and my very favorite of those Buzz Artists posts has definitely been the one on Lana Del Rey. This is not just my favorite because of how much I absolutely LOVE her and her album, “Born To Die,” but because it was also the first of the Buzz Artist posts and I definitely have a soft spot for the place where things begin. I also love it because when I made that post Lana was fairly unknown and she has since become a massively successful and buzzed about artist. While I obviously can’t take any credit for that with this post, it is still nice to be in on something right before it hits the rest of the world.

The “World Beauty Showcase” post was one of my favorites, in large part, due to what inspired it – my first trip to my favorite Walt Disney park, Epcot, and it’s “World Showcase,” in which you travel through several different countries and experience their culture and architecture all in the midst of this one park. They have shops with merchandise and foods from each of these countries and even actual people from each country working there. I was so inspired by seeing all these different cultures and the different styles of the people from those countries that I wanted to feature the looks of different people from different places around the world.

The “Spotlight” posts here on Beausic are some of my favorites and one that I look forward to every month! One of my most-viewed posts here on Beausic, as well as the very first Spotlight post before it became a monthly feature on the blog, was the Spotlight: Rihanna post and it remains one of my very favorites. I am actually contemplating doing a sequel to it, since Rihanna has such a vast array of looks to recreate. I’m not certain when that will happen but I am definitely looking forward to it eventually.
7. Drugstore Haul & Summer Makeup Tutorial Inspired by Thalia

The “Drugstore Haul & Summer Makeup Tutorial” post is one of my favorites because I just really fell in love with the Thalia-inspired look created in that post, as well as the fact that this post was simultaneously a haul, a tutorial and a look for that week’s Friday feature, showcasing Latin artists. I really hope to do more multipurpose posts like this in the future.
6. Glamour Doll Eyes: Reviews, Swatches & Experimentation

My “Glamour Doll Eyes: Reviews, Swatches & Experimentation” post is one of my very favorites because it is the first review post I ever did and I loved experimenting with all of the different products I had picked up from Glamour Doll Eyes! It was one of the first times I really got to experiment with different styles and using products in unusual ways that I could actually share with the world, so I really loved it.
5. Outlaws Of Love: A Beausic Original Playlist

I have said all along, at the start of every Beausic Original Playlist post that they are my favorite Music Monday posts of every month. They are some of my favorite posts in general every month. I absolutely adore creating these playlists and I really hope that you guys enjoy listening to them, as well. My favorite Beausic Original Playlist is actually the most recent one, (in fact, it’s the most recent post on the blog before this one,) which is all focused on gay issues, which is, of course, very important to me, personally. This is my favorite because I feel like it is not just a playlist for entertainment and fun, although it is entertaining and fun, but is actually making a powerful statement, which I feel is an important thing to do when you have any sort of platform.
4. Guerlain Meteorites Perles Illuminating Finishing Powder & Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer Review

Product Reviews have become a monthly feature on the blog without my ever actually declaring it a monthly feature. My favorite of the product reviews I have done is definitely the Guerlain review I did. I love the product itself and, even more, I feel like this was one of the first videos I did for the YouTube channel where I actually really showed my personality. It has also wound up being my most viewed video on YouTube and the one that has gained me the most subscribers on my YouTube channel, which makes it special to me in a whole different way.
3. Champagne Pearls & Gold Hearts Summer Makeup Tutorial

The “Champagne Pearls & Gold Hearts” tutorial I recorded a few weeks ago is definitely one of my very favorites! It’s not all that frequent that I actually do original looks for the blog and, oftentimes, when I do I have a tendency to get overly creative with them or want to do something really bold, so I really loved still getting to do something interesting and creative while actually creating a wearable look. Taking inspiration from some necklaces I found with champagne colored pearls and tacky gold-colored hearts, I really loved this look and thought it was perfect for the summertime.

As I mentioned earlier, I have a very soft spot for the place where things begin, so I definitely had to feature here the very first actual post on Beausic, “One Song, Three Styles.” This post featured one song, “My Man,” originally by Fanny Brice in the 1920s, performed by Barbra Streisand in my favorite film of all-time, “Funny Girl” in the 1960s, and performed on “Glee” by Lea Michele in 2011. The whole point was to showcase the different styles the song was performed in and the different styles of the artists who had performed it. It is kind of a low-budget post, having been the first, but I still feel like it was a really great post and it remains one of my favorites.
1. Chart-Topping Hits, Show-Stopping Looks

Last but not least, my very favorite post here on Beausic is definitely the “Chart-Topping Hits, Show-Stopping Looks” post.I love this post for the fact that it kind of allowed me to do some of my most creative, original looks yet and they were all inspired by music itself – not the artists performing the music but actually directly derived from the music itself! Each color used in these looks was somehow directly taken from a reference in the lyrics of the song that inspired the look, as each look was inspired by a song on the charts the week that the post was made. This is a concept you can definitely expect to be revisited in the future here on Beausic! The only thing I don’t absolutely love about this post is the title – it just sounds cheesy or gimmicky to me. Oh well, I’m stuck with it now!
So, there you have my 10 favorite posts here on Beausic so far! What I’d really like to know, though, is what are YOUR favorite posts on the blog?! Which ones do you guys like the best? Which ones have you been not as keen on? I know what works for me and what I enjoy doing the most but I’d really like to get you guys’ thoughts on what you think works the best or what you enjoy seeing the most! After all, without you guys, there wouldn’t be any point in any of this, so I want to make this blog the best I possibly can for all of you! I’ve got a LOT of stuff already planned for the blog but I am ALWAYS open to suggestions! On the topic of things I have planned for the blogs in the weeks and months ahead, I wanted to give you guys a little preview of things to come, so I put together a little collage of things that are Coming Soon to Beausic! Check it out!
So, I hope that gives you all something to look forward to! In the meantime, I want to say once again: THANK YOU ALL FOR STICKING BY ME FOR 100 POSTS!!! Here’s to the next 100! In the meantime, though, I wish you all a beautiful rest of the week and a beautiful life!
Jason
