It’s that time of month again, folks! Time for the next installment in my Madonna makeup series! This month we are finally into the 2000s, with Madonna’s 2001 album, “Music.” When initially planning out this series, this was one period of Madonna’s career that I was having trouble figuring out a look to recreate from. The makeup style that Madonna wore throughout promotion for this album was very much not consistent, although it was consistently kind of simple. Makeup was consistently not the focus of her imagery throughout this album’s time. Of course, then it dawned on me – just after the release of the music album, Madonna embarked on her first tour in 9 years – the breathtaking “Drowned World” Tour. While the album promos didn’t feature much for makeup, the tour definitely did. In particular, the backdrops for the tour featured some really amazing visuals featuring Madonna’s return to, in my opinion, a much cooler version of the Geisha look Madonna initially wore in the music video for the single, “Nothing Really Matters” from the “Ray of Light” album. This look seemed like the perfect one to recreate for this post! Check out inspiration images below!
